The list of Northern Irishmen to sport the famous Liverpool red is far from extensive or particularly noteworthy. Academy graduate Conor Bradley, who only made his Premier League debut in 2024, boasts the second highest number of LFC appearances from Ulster - that paints the picture.

In fact, the Castlederg-born right back became the first player from his nation to make a senior appearance for Liverpool since 1954 when he took to the pitch at Carrow Road in the Carabao Cup (2021). It would require a great-grandparent to recall the stunning 22-year-long career of one of the club’s finest ever goalkeepers: Elisha Scott. Upon leaving the club in 1934, the “ever so solid guardian” amassed 430 league matches which was a then-club record that wouldn’t be overtaken for 23 more years.

With now-18-year-old Kieran Morrison being tied to a professional contract, Liverpool now possess two NI talents (concurrently) for only the second time in club history. Previously on the books of Manchester United, the attacking midfielder/wide forward would trade the dark side from Merseyside at under-14 level; Morrison hasn’t looked back since. The Northern Ireland U19 international featured in the 2023 scholarship intake — containing 12 other players including the likes of Kareem Ahmed and Kornel Misciur — before achieving the feat of netting a ‘goal every other game’ in the U18 Premier League, with 11 goals in 22 at his maiden season at the level.
